ABOUT the ARTIST
Jess Overmeyer graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 2018 with a BA in Mathematics and Studio Art. With a concentration in handmade papermaking, her work looks at the intersection between the two fields. The aim is to show the beauty of mathematics in an attempt to make the abstract concepts more tangible to the viewer.
Her recent work revolves around the patterns that make up the basis of our daily environment. The current project focuses on deconstructing, examining, and rebuilding imagery in a calculated and measured process. With this she explores the structure of spaces that are ingrained in our day-to-day and how they progress when neglected.
